Building an AI-driven revenue platform for Shopify entrepreneurs

“The audit gave us a clear strategic roadmap for where revenue was being lost and what needed to be fixed. This was not a stack of random tools, but a targeted system built around our actual gaps.”

An introduction to BeyondSixFigures

BeyondSixFigures (BSF) is an e-commerce education and revenue infrastructure company helping entrepreneurs build and scale Shopify stores. Founded by Justin Woll, the company had built a substantial ecosystem of store owners who relied on BSF for strategic guidance and operational frameworks.

BSF wanted to move beyond teaching strategies and offer clients working revenue systems embedded directly in their stores. To do that, they needed a fully integrated platform deployable at scale across their ecosystem, one built around the actual gaps their clients were experiencing, not a stack of generic tools.

ARGUS Operational Audit

AItillery conducted an ARGUS operational audit examining store revenue breakdowns, customer lifecycle behaviour, marketing automation infrastructure, and conversion bottlenecks.

The audit surfaced two distinct operational problems: fragmented lifecycle revenue systems, and the absence of a unified intelligence layer to connect them at scale. ARGUS ranked all identified opportunities by estimated revenue impact and build feasibility, and produced a sequenced implementation plan. The two challenges below represent the highest-priority interventions, the ones where execution effort was lowest relative to revenue upside.

Challenge One: Fragmented lifecycle revenue systems

The Problem
  • Email marketing was underperforming or entirely absent. Most stores had not built behavioural trigger sequences: abandoned cart recovery, post-purchase flows, and reactivation campaigns were either missing or running on basic broadcast logic, with no connection to actual customer behaviour data.

  • There was no post-purchase revenue layer. Upsell and cross-sell opportunities were left entirely to the checkout experience, with no automated mechanism to extend revenue generation into the days and weeks following a transaction.

  • Customer lifecycle data existed in fragments across different tools but was not consolidated into unified profiles. Without a single view of customer history, it was impossible to segment, score, or trigger lifecycle automation based on actual purchase and engagement patterns.

The Solution
  • CRM Integration: unified customer profiles capturing behavioural and purchase data.

  • Lifecycle Email Automation: behaviour-triggered campaigns including abandoned cart recovery, post-purchase engagement, and customer reactivation.

  • AI Concierge: an AI assistant embedded in Shopify stores capable of answering product questions, recommending products, and assisting purchase decisions.

  • Post-Purchase Optimisation: automated upsell and cross-sell offers immediately after checkout.

The Result

Across participating stores, lifecycle automation drove email revenue from 10% to 38% of total store revenue. The baseline reflected years of underinvestment in owned channels: most BSF stores had over-indexed on paid traffic and had not built functional email programmes.

The shift reflects channel rebalancing from a structurally neglected starting point, not incremental optimisation of something already working. Average order value increased by 14% across the measurement period, driven by post-purchase upsell sequencing and AI-assisted product recommendations at the point of purchase.

The AI concierge contributed to approximately 5% of revenue through assisted product discovery, measured as sessions where a concierge interaction preceded a completed transaction.

“The audit changed everything. Instead of guessing which tools to use, we had clear data showing where clients were losing money and where the biggest opportunities were. That clarity made it much easier to take the right actions and improve results.”

Challenge Two: Turning point solutions into system-wide revenue intelligence

The Problem
  • BSF stores had no coherent operational tech stack. Where tools were in place at all, they had been adopted ad hoc across the ecosystem and were running as isolated systems, each generating customer signals independently with no unifying layer between them.

  • The same customer appeared as multiple disconnected records: a transaction in one system, an email click in another, a support conversation in a third. Personalised lifecycle automation was impossible, and revenue signals were invisible at the point where they mattered most.

  • For an ecosystem serving thousands of merchants across multiple EU and global markets, the absence of a properly architected data layer created additional exposure: marketing platforms adopted piecemeal are not built to handle the data sensitivity requirements that apply to a regulated buyer base, meaning the integration architecture had to be designed with GDPR-compliant data handling from the outset.

The Solution

AItillery architected and built the full operational tech stack from the ground up, with a custom connector layer as the system spine: state-of-the-art e-commerce tools selected and configured for the ecosystem, paired with a unified CRM and a custom middleware connector that ingests transactional, marketing, upsell, and support data from every tool in the stack and resolves customer identity across all sources in real time. Every touchpoint (a support conversation, a post-purchase upsell, a campaign click, a repeat order) updates a single customer record and feeds back into lifecycle automation logic in real time.

The connector layer was architected with GDPR-compliant data handling as the default: data minimisation at ingestion, lawful basis documentation at the consent layer, access controls at the CRM layer, and compliant data flow between every system in the stack. For merchants operating in health, wellness, or other regulated product categories, HIPAA-compatible handling can be enabled as an additional configuration layer on top of the GDPR baseline.

The platform was built and deployed in 40 days, and new Shopify clients can be onboarded in approximately one week.

The Result

Across participating stores, lifecycle automation produced an average revenue lift of 25–35% on top of existing store baseline. For stores generating $50k–$100k in monthly revenue, this translated to $150k–$420k in additional annual revenue. For stores in the $100k–$200k monthly range, the lift produced $300k–$700k. The range reflects variation in lifecycle maturity at the point of engagement: stores with more developed customer bases and higher transaction volumes captured proportionally larger absolute gains from the same percentage improvement.

Taken together, the two challenges produced a compounding effect: Challenge One built the lifecycle automation layer that drove channel revenue share and order value, and Challenge Two ensured that automation ran on a unified data foundation, making personalisation accurate and the revenue gains sustainable rather than short-lived. At a typical ARGUS engagement investment, the additional revenue generated across a cohort of participating stores represents full payback within the first operating quarter, with returns that compound as the unified data foundation matures.

“AItillery did not just help us improve operations, they helped us build a far more effective revenue engine for our clients.”
